(Almost...) Weekly Newsletter

Welcome to the (almost) weekly newsletter!

Results over the last weekend were a bit a mixed bag.

There were 3 major Victories over the weekend:

The 1st XV won away at Thurrock (12-19) this was a great Victory for the team and maintains our change of staying in London North 2 for next season. Next game is against Bury St Edmunds on the 12th April at Handside Lane - please come and support the lads in their last home game of the season.

The situation is Currently that we are 1 point above London Nigerians and out of the relegation zone. London Nigerian's remain fixtures are Ruislip at home and Tabard away. The Ruislip game is going to be tough for them which would need them needing to beat Tabard away in the last game of the season - we have to hope that Tabard are playing well on that day. We have Bury St Edmonds at home as previously mentioned with our last game being Ruislip away!!! This really could go down to the wire.

Great Results for the under 18 Girls over the weekend - THEY ARE THROUGH TO THE NATIONAL CUP FINAL - we will post more details of this as soon as we receive them Congratulations to the girls on what is already a fantastic achievement.

The Colts have been touring Portugal over the weekend and on Saturday they beat the Portugese National Team - Well done lads. We are very lucky in that we have a fantastic group of Guys coming through at Colts Level.

The other results didn't go quite so well on Saturday with the 2nds losing 8-30 to Bishop's Stortford, the 4ths losing 7-14 to Enfield Ignatians and the 5ths losing 21-0 to Fullerians Vets.

We are still awaiting fuller details of the Girl's Game and the Colts tour, I'm sure that the respective managers will be updating as soon as possible.

Tickets for the Dinner and Dance are going well. I would suggest that you speak to either Jane Peterkin, Cath Swindell or Bob Swindell soonest if you want tickets or to organize a table.

VP's Lunch is fast approaching (12th April) please contact Conor Byrne if you require tickets.

We are also looking to organize a Family Fare in the summer. This is to take place at the club on the 27th July, 2008. If you are able to help either by running or helping on a stall then please contact Nigel Parker (Nutty to most of the world). Further to this if any of you are able to offer or obtain sponsorship for this please also contact Nutty.

One last think is that I (Bob Swindell) am walking Hadrian's Wall at the end of the Season and am looking for sponsors. The proceeds are to be split 50/50 between the Club and The Royal Marsden Hospital. Members have already been generous in their sponsorship and I would ask any others that would like to sponsor to email me at swindelb@aol.com

That is it for this week and looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the coming weeks
