Due to a number of recent events the Club Committee has made the decision to suspend Nigel Parker from the Club for a period of a minimum of 6 months. His position will be reviewed at that time.
Until such review has taken place Nigel is not authorised to act on behalf of The Club in any way, nor is he to coach or play at any level.
It is regrettable that we have had to take this extreme measure but the Committee must do what it considers best for the Club, its players and all its members. We hope that the situation can be resolved during this period.
This years Vice President's Lunch is to be held at the Club house on April, 10th. We have already started to receive bookings for this and we hope to have a Full House on the day. The lunch will be held prior to our London North 1 League Match against Civil Service. As it is still only January, there will be reminders (getting more and more forceful as we approach the date!!!!!). We would love to see all V.P.'s and Guests from far and near.
PLEASE PUT THIS DATE IN YOUR DIARY AND RELIVE THE STORIES (TRUE OR OTHERWISE) OF FORMAR YEARS.
Due to the state of the pitches, all matches on Saturday 16th January and Sunday 17th January have been cancelled or postponed.
We are holding a Sponsors' Lunch on Saturday 16th January, 2010 before the London North 1 League match between WELWYN and WESTCLIFF.
Our guest of honour and speaker at this lunch will be our local MP and Shadow Housing Minister, Grant Shapps.
The meal will commence at about 12:30pm and we will meet in the bar for drinks from 12:00 onward. The cost for the 3 course lunch with wine will be £20.00. (Please note, that because of the catering costs, non attendees who have booked places will be required to pay for the meal) PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS LUNCH WILL GO ON EVEN IF THE MATCH NEEDS TO BE CANCELLED BECAUSE OF THE COLD WEATHER. IT WILL JUST LAST LONGER!!!!!!
We are anticipating a good response to this lunch and would request that you contact Bob Swindell as soon as possible to confirm your place. There is a notice on the Club Board, please either add your name to this by Wednesday 13th January, 2009 or send an e:mail to Bob at swindelb@aol.com

Festive cheer was order of the day as the club had its Festive Cross Bar Challenge in a winter wonderland which was the 3rd team pitch.
Despite the snow and the cold there were lots of people around to give it a go. After an hour and a half Francis Wilson stepped up and with one well guided kick he managed the impossible and walked of with a Nintendo wii Sports pack which was kindly donated by John Lewis Welwyn. This was a fantastic result as Francis son plays for the U10 squad and is a keen supporter of Mini Rugby. The result meant the party could continue inside with Hog rolls and mulled wine been quaffed with gusto.
The aim of the day was to raise funds for Welwyn Bravehearts mixed and special needs rugby group. With kind donations from Fullers, Tesco Community, John Lewis Welwyn, RAM Rugby and Gareths The Butchers the day made £800. So a big thank you and a Merry Christmas to one and all.
